Lancaster County, PA - April 5, 2006

So I'm driving through the middle of nowhere in Lancaster County -- which is rather redundant -- and I come around a curve and I think to myself, "My, those are some very shaggy cows!" I get a little closer and realize that no, what I was seeing was in fact a small herd of domesticated bison. In south central Pennsylvania. I pulled over and went up to the fence to get some pictures, but they were very wary of me and kept moving away, occasionally stopping to see if I was still there.

Seriously, did it ever occur to anyone that someone would raise bison in Lancaster County, or is it just me?
